Tips:
Can add Fresh Green Peas (Parboiled) for a more
Colourful & Nutritious Dish
We have had this Dish with Cashewnuts,
Caraway Seeds/Royal Cumin Seeds are also some other
names for Shahi Jeera
Variations:
In this Recipe, we have used Regular Ponni Rice that
is most easily available in the Southern Indian Region but any other commonly
available Indian Rice Varieties like Sona Masuri can be used
Just as Authentic Punjabi Cuisine is incomplete
without Ghee, Jeera Chawal is incomplete without the Traditional Basmati Rice.
So please try & use the same for this Dish!
Being on a Health Conscious Lifestyle, we have tried
this Dish with Brown Basmati Rice as well & Trust me it tastes as good as
it does with Regular Rice!
Sliced Onions can be fried till Golden Brown
separately, Kept Aside & added to the Rice while Simmering

how this one turned out :)
